Our first attempt at making raw chocolate bars, completely from scratch, using the raw chocolate ingredients rather than commercially made chocolate.
In our household we all lean toward being chocoholics.
We don’t only eat chocolate straight from the wrapper, we also love making ‘regular’ chocolate confections and will add chocolate to our baking at every opportunity.
My own favourite bake is a rich chocolate roulade – it’s to die for! The kids love making chocolate brownies, chocolate sponge in a cup, chocolate bread, drinking chocolate, and anything else you can think of adding chocolate to!
Raw Chocolate Making for Gifts
We make chocolates as Christmas gifts every year, and this year we will be doing the same, but we wanted to make something different.
Through work, I came into contact with Amy Levin, aka ‘The Raw Chocolatier’. Amy specialises in, you guessed, Raw Chocolate. Amy has recently offered a free video tutorial series on how to make raw chocolate and raw chocolate pralines, so we just had to follow along!
Our plan is to use this base chocolate for adding to our pistachio nut butter, and a few other ingredients, to make pistachio praline chocolates.
Fancy giving this a go yourself? Then watch raw chocolatier, Amy Levin’s Raw Chocolate Praline video – you can download the video and her recipe.
You can also watch the other video tutorials in Amy’s series. Well worth watching if you’re interested in getting into raw chocolate making from scratch.
I’ll add a photo of our finished pralines as soon as they’re made – before we eat them all!
